For Such a Time as This
Have you ever reflected on why it is that you were born in the specific century, decade, month, day and time, that you were born into? I personally find today’s society a bit too much for my personality. If I had it my way, I would have probably chose to be born in a time when things were more simple, appreciated, and when fashion was actually fashionable. I must admit, the 80’s, you know, that beautiful decade that I graced my presence with, brought forth many of my request, however, it was still full of crime, drug abuse, and political uproar. Now, the FASHION……. hands down, was, and still is the FLYEST to ever be! This is NOT up for debate (side eye). The music……. do I even need to go there? I still bang the speakers to this very day with 80’s music, and if my prophetic inclination is correct, you do as well. I truly appreciate being an 80’s baby, however, as I mature, I appreciate it more and more for different reasons. One of the main reasons that I appreciate the 80’s, the month of April, the day of Saturday, and the time of 2 pm, is because I have come to realize that, I WAS BORN FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
Hadassah, better known as Esther, was a young, beautiful Jewish girl from Persia. She was raised by her older cousin Mordecai. Esther, eventually became queen, which for a Jewish girl in Persia, was not only unheard of, but could have cost Esther her life. Due to the bravery of her cousin Mordecai, Esther was informed of an evil plot to kill all Jewish people in the land, by the command of the king’s closest confidant. Because of customs and traditions, Esther new that she could not just go to the king, informing him of this plot without his permission…….SHE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. However, thanks to her cousin Mordecai, she was reminded that she, too, was a Jew, and her life as well, would be taken. Mordecai gave his cousin something to ponder on, words that are just as bold now, as they were then…….. PERHAPS YOU WERE BORN FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.
There just may be times when you feel as if you were born in the wrong time; you may have even wondered why you were even born at all. Life has a way of making us feel unwanted, unqualified, unworthy and like we are an outcast at times. God has been known to place us into situations where ONLY His grace will get us through. God has definitely been known to give us tasks that are just way beyond what our own abilities can accomplish. HOWEVER, when these moments arrive (and they will), I want to encourage you to operate out of a place of FAITH, and COURAGE, just as Queen Esther did. Truth is, you are definitely unqualified, and your sinful nature makes you unworthy, which is why THE BLOOD covers you, just as it covered Queen Esther and all of the Jews. Because THE BLOOD covers you, you can graciously walk in all authority! Yes, you are an outcast, because you have been set apart, FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 NIV
